Butcher's Alley ReLight UE5

I relit the awesome Butcher's Alley project from Dekogon Studios in an evening after wanting to practice some cyberpunk lighting. The goal was to avoid the traditional blue/red/pink palette that a lot of cyberpunk artwork leans into while still providing a punch of saturation and color. Inspiration from Liam Wong's photography. I imagined creating an experience of stepping outside your safehouse into a seedy alley and experiencing a slap in the face of neon glow of a cyberpunk open world.

Lighting is realtime in Unreal Engine 5 using Lumen and Virtual Shadows. I treated this like most of my professional work and kept it somewhat optimized with values for light culling at a distance while around the camera can retain light density for visual fidelity. I focused on lights that provided material reads and used silhouettes to add depth and glinting reflections to imply detail in darker areas.
